Our Heritage and Values
Church at Wieuca is a warm and welcoming traditional church. We have been serving our community from the corner of Peachtree and Wieuca since 1956. For more than 65 years, our worship services have provided Christian hope and inspiration to generations of North Atlantans. We are proud of our history, we celebrate our legacy, and we continue to dream boldly for our neighborhood and our city as we follow God into the future.
Whether you are a single adult, a newly married couple, a family with children, an empty-nester, or well into retirement, we offer quality worship for everyone and discipleship opportunities designed to foster Christian community and spiritual growth. Beyond our worship and discipleship opportunities, Wieuca is home to a first-class Day School for infants and preschoolers, an After School program that provides Christian care and instructions to elementary school students, as well as numerous, fun activities throughout the year like Camp Wieuca (summer camp), and community-wide seasonal events.
Our ultimate goal is not to host and support first-class ministries or even first-class worship. At Wieuca, we aim for life transformation that leads to transformed individuals, transformed families, transformed communities, and ultimately a transformed world. Our goal is to become more like Christ so that our world becomes more like God's Kingdom. Whether you're new to the area, new to Christianity, or just looking for a place to search for answers in an accepting community, Wieuca has a place for you.
If you are wondering what your first experience at Wieuca will be like, you can find more information on our New To Wieuca page. We hope you will check us out in person, and we would love for you to be a part of the amazing things God is doing at Wieuca. Let us know if you have any questions at all! Send us an email to info@wieuca.org or give us a call at 404-814-4460.
Developing Disciples, Fostering Community, Connecting People to Christ, Offering Transformative Worship, and Embracing Life-changing Missions. - Mission and Vision of the Church at Wieuca -
We treasure our heritage as Baptists. Our ministries honor that heritage and support the following five traditional Baptist principles:
- The Priesthood Of The Believer
We believe in Soul Freedom - the freedom and responsibility of every person to relate directly to God without control or intervention by clergy or government. - The Authority Of The Bible
We believe in Bible Freedom - the authority of Scripture. We believe the Bible, under the Lordship of Christ, is central in the life of the individual and the church. We affirm the freedom and right of every Christian to interpret and apply Scripture under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. - Religious Liberty
We believe in Religious Freedom - freedom of religion, for religion, and from religion. We support separation of Church and State. - Autonomy Of The Local Church
We believe in Church Freedom - the autonomy of every local church. We believe Baptist Churches are free, under the Lordship of Christ, to determine their membership and leadership, to order their worship and work, to ordain whomever their perceive as gifted and called for ministry, and to participate as they deem appropriate in the larger Body of Christ. - Believers' Baptism
We practice Believers' Baptism - the decision for baptism rests with the individual and cannot be made for another. This decision comes when one is old enough to understand that baptism by immersion in water symbolizes the forgiveness of sins and new life in Christ. It is the mark of Christ, an outward expression of the inward heart.
