COVID-19 Related Guidelines
People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea

Our COVID-19 related guidelines will be announced closer to the start of summer camp (likely May 2022). Our guidelines are based on the American Camp Association, which have not yet been released. In 2021, we had a mask policy for all campers/staff while indoors, limited group sizes, weekly online symptom screenings, and cleaning/santizing schedules for all areas.

Camp Wieuca will start our After School Program the week of August 1, 2022.
- Kindergarten/1st Grade Murphey Candler Pool (11:30 AM - 2:30 PM)
- Second/Third Grade Briarwood Pool (11:30 AM - 2:30 PM)
- Fourth - Seventh Grade Murphey Candler Pool (1:30 PM - 4:30 PM)
- Above information include travel times to/from Camp Wieuca.
- Campers are grouped by the grade most recently completed.
- Murphey Candler is a 0-depth entry pool. Younger kids are kept in the shallow end.
- All campers are monitored by the pool lifeguards and our staff. All head staff and senior counselors are First Aid/CPR trained.
- Campers are welcome to bring floaties.
Children completing Kindergarten through Seventh grade (2021-2022 school year) are eligible for enrollment. Regardless of age, campers must have completed Kindergarten in order to enroll.
Summer Camp is full day from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Drop off and pick up procedures will be emailed to families before the start of camp. Drop off will be from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM and pick up from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. If you need to drop off late or pick up early, please park in front of the Activities Center/Gym and call the front desk at 404-467-4252. Please talk to front desk first if needing to drop off late or pick up early on a pool or field trip day.
Parents are responsible for paying the non-refundable, registration fee of $50 per child at the time of registration. Weekly tuition is $245 for the first child. There is a 10% tuition discount for siblings that will be applied automatically. Tuition includes all camp expenses (including pool trips and field trips) and will automatically draft from the credit card on file every Monday that your camper(s) attend camp. You can update your credit card and access your statements/tax information online through the parent portal.
If your child is on the waitlist, you will be notified via email should a spot become available. In this case, we will automatically register your camper for the desired week and will send you a confirmation email to confirm if your camper would still like to attend for the desired dates. Should you no longer wish to attend, you will be able to un-register for that specific week free of charge. You can reach out to us via email at any time to check your camper's waitlist status.
We will not skip campers on the waitlist. The waitlist is calculated on a first come-first served basis.
Cancellations can be made free of charge until Monday, May 9, 2022. After this date, cancellations are a $50 charge per child, per week. Cancellations are accepted by email only at Camp@wieuca.org. Camp Wieuca does not accept cancellations made after 5:00 PM on the Friday before the week in question.
Groups consist of 15 campers or less. Camp Wieuca maintains a 1:8 ratio for staff to campers. All staff complete an application process and all references are checked. Staff 18+ complete a criminal background check. All staff members complete pre-camp training that includes Camp Wieuca and American Camp Association (ACA) guidelines for camp operations. Senior Counselors and Head Staff are First Aid/CPR trained prior to the start of camp.
- Senior Counselors (SCs) are college aged or older (one counselor per group)
- Junior Counselors (JCs) are high school aged (one counselor per group)
- Volunteers are age 14 and help with younger age groups

Drop Off and Pick Up
Camp Wieuca is located on the campus of Church at Wieuca (Formerly known as "Wieuca Road Baptist Church"). Use the entrance off of Wieuca Road next to the steeple.

Drop off and pick up are done at the front desk in the Activities Center. Drop off will be from 8:00 - 9:00 AM and pick up will be from 5:00 - 6:00 PM. You will need your 4-digit PIN to drop off/pick up. This information will be emailed to parents before the start of Summer Camp. If a babysitter or other family member is dropping off your camper(s), reach out via email for additional PINs.
Late drop off/Early pick up on Tuesdays/Thursdays will need to be coordinated with the Front Desk staff as campers are not on campus all day. Pool Day and Field Trip schedules vary week-by-week. Please email us your time frames to see if there are late drop off/ early pick up options for that day.Parents are responsible to alert Camp Wieuca Head Staff via email should there their camper(s) [or anyone in the camper's household(s)] are diagnosed/exposed to COVID-19 or develop COVID-19 related symptoms. Any alerts need to be emailed to Camp@wieuca.org.
Camp Wieuca Activities
Camp Wieuca offers a large campus including a Gym, Playfield, Grassy Area, Blacktop, Game Room, Arts & Crafts Room, etc. Throughout the week campers will have the opportunity to participate in specialized electives, indoor/outdoor group activities, daily Bible study, worship, pool days, field trips, and Friday cookout. The oldest groups will also have service project opportunities once a week. Information will be emailed out to parents. Electives can include team sports, art, drama, skating, science, cooking, and dance.
Campers will need to pack a lunch every Monday through Thursday. Please do not pack anything that contains peanuts or requires refrigeration/heating. Snacks are provided each day. Hamburgers and hot dogs are served every Friday for our weekly Cookout. Turkey and veggie burgers are available by parent request.
Pack a swimsuit and towel on pool days. Campers will have a scheduled time to change before and after the pool. Please be sure that campers have dry clothes and closed-toe shoes to wear for non-water-related activities. We ask that all items be packed in a bag or backpack to prevent anything from being lost. Please label your camper's items.
Please provide any medication in original packaging to Head Staff. Notate any medical information that Head Staff needs to be aware of during registration or email us at Camp@wieuca.org.
Snacks will be provided every day. Lunch will be provided on Cookout Fridays only. Should campers have any allergies or dietary concerns, be sure to note this on your registration form. Updates can be made by emailing Camp@wieuca.org. Turkey and Veggie burgers will be made available on an as-needed basis. All food must be peanut-ingredient-free. Pack all food items in a lunchbox labeled with your camper's name. Refrigerator/Microwave are not available. Pack a water bottle for your camper(s). Make sure water bottles are labeled with their first and last name. Water coolers are staged throughout campus and are available for refills.
Depending on the day's schedule, campers will spend 2-3, 45-minute segments outside. Outdoor segments will include breaks for campers to come inside. All outdoor spaces will have water coolers available. Campers will have access to single-use disposable cups that will be discarded after use. SPF 50 sunscreen is supplied by Camp Wieuca. Our head staff monitor weather conditions. Should the weather be too hot or stormy, all groups will stay inside until weather conditions are suitable for outdoor play.
