Any campers (or staff) exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms are not permitted to attend camp.
Should anyone begin exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms while at camp they will be immediately
separated from their group and sent home as soon as practicable. Families of campers and
staff who have come in contact with the individual will be alerted. Areas where the individual
came into contact will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized per CDC recommendations and
guidelines.
Any campers (or staff) who exhibited COVID-19 symptoms will not be allowed back at camp
until they have either had a negative COVID-19 test or have been fever and fever mediation
free for seventy-two (72) hours, other symptoms have improved, and at least ten (10) days
have passed since symptoms first appeared.
All campers and staff must answer our virus screening questionnaire in regards to any COVID-19 diagnosis, exposure, or development of symptoms. This prescreen is emailed out each Sunday before the week in attendance and must be answered before the camper or staff member arrives at camp. Parents/Staff are responsible to alert Camp Wieuca Head Staff via email should there be any changes to their camper's health [or anyone's health in the household(s)]. Any alerts need to be emailed to Camp@wieuca.org.
All campers and staff are required to wear face masks when inside and on the buses/vans. Campers will be socially distanced and allowed to remove their masks when eating or outside.
Please pack an extra face mask for each of your campers in the case that his/her mask breaks or gets dirty. Remember that your camper will need a fresh, CLEAN mask each day in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Groups are 15 campers or less with two counselors (17 individuals total). On pool days, groups are separated out by grade level for transportation and this will stay consistent throughout the summer. (Example: Two Kindergarten groups will ride the same bus/van to the pool). All staff and campers are required to wear face masks while in the vehicle and will be spaced out as much as practicable. All bus/vans are sanitized between grade levels.
All camp facilities are cleaned and thoroughly sanitized prior to the start of summer camp. Camp Wieuca has a designated cleaning staff committed to sanitizing all camp areas and equipment between groups as well as cleaning and sanitizing at the end of each day. All staff members are trained to clean in accordance with CDC guidelines and each camp space includes a sanitizing checklist that staff members follow to ensure proper cleaning procedure.
