WHAT ARE THE IMPACT TEAMS:IMPACT Purpose
As part of the implementation of the Mission/Vision report that the church affirmed in August, IMPACT teams are being created to help focus and expand our mission outreach endeavors.
IMPACT: Generational Poverty
The Generational Poverty IMPACT team will seek to learn more about the complex issues that create the continual spiral of poverty. The team will also work creatively to find ways to collaborate with organizations helping to provide people a way out both locally and internationally.
Many of us have seen the effects of aging and how much a struggle it can be for those who do not have a support system that they can call on or that can provide a sense of belonging. The IMPACT Seniors team will look to be that support for those in our community who need it.
The Refugee crisis in the world has hit an all-time high as people are looking to flee their home country looking for safety and a better life for their families. This team will work to help those who are coming to Atlanta feel welcome and assist them in transitioning to life in a new world.
IMPACT: Public Servants
Our lives are impacted by hundreds of individuals who serve tirelessly and often unnoticed. These people often work under hazardous conditions to help provide us a safe place to live and to respond when things go wrong. The Public Servants Impact team seeks to serve these men and women in a variety of ways.
IMPACT: Human Trafficking
We live in a city where Human Trafficking is often busier than any other place in the world. Like many issues, this one has a complex web that this team will strive to better understand while learning how they can help provide a place of rescue. This team will collaborate with many organizations who are already working here and around the world to lend our time and money for those who are caught in this heinous world.
