The Refugee crisis in the world has hit an all-time high as people are looking to flee their home country looking for safety and a better life for their families. This team will work to help those who are coming to Atlanta feel welcome and assist them in transitioning to life in a new world.
Clarkston Mission Trip Proposed by the IMPACT Refugees Team

Location: Peace of Thread, Clarkston, GA
Dates: August 2-5, 2017
Cost: $35 per person
Participants: 5-8 (women)
We are looking for 5-8 women to serve in a local mission trip to Clarkston. For three and a half days, we will meet at Wieuca and for the short drive to Clarkston, fellowshipping with and ministering to the refugee families working with Peace of Thread. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and love on our neighbors in Clarkston. Instead of going out to the nations to minister, God has brought the nations to our front door - let's answer His call!
Below is a schedule proposed by Denise at Peace of Thread:
Wednesday 8-5pm…
8-9am Introduction to Peace, PRAY, and telling the story of a few families that work with us. Q&A for 20 minutes
9-12pm Learning design, folding and organizing, greeting and meeting all the refugee women as they come and go. Possibly walking them home or driving them back to their apartments so that 2 people can bless them and see where they live.
12-1:30 lunch prepared and served to all women that are serving for the day in Peace.
1:30- 5pm Designing and more organizing… greeting and making tea for all the refugee women and their children that come to return bags and pick up new ones.
5-6pm Debrief and Pray for the many ways that God showed how he is at work.
6pm Dinner at KATMANDU together.
Thursday 8- 5pm
8-10am Worship time, PRAY in groups with a tour and Prayer walk.
10-11:30pm Debrief about the morning …Prepare for serving in the ESL program at the house.
11:30-12pm Eat sack lunches together at the Grace Village house
12-2pm ESL classes; serving and helping with the many children and babies
2-2:30pmClean the house and prepare for House visits of the refugee ladies
2:30-5pm house visits
5-6pm Debrief and pray! Dinner in the City of Decatur and walk around the boutiques.
Friday 8-5pm

6pm Dinner at Dekalb Farmers Market together. (This is where many refugees are working
Saturday 9-11pm
Breakfast together at the House.
Prayer for and PRAISES shared what God has done and showed the team.
Depart at 11pm for back to their Village in Atlanta areas
