Where in the World is Wieuca
Christ has no body now on earth but yours,
no hands but yours,
no feet but yours,
Yours are the eyes through which to look out
Christ's compassion to the world
Yours are the feet with which he is to go about
doing good;
Yours are the hands with which he is to bless men now.”
-St. Teresa of Avilla
Community Ministries
IMPACT Teams
IMPACT Teams are a way for Wieuca to reach out into the community with a focus on three areas: Poverty; Seniors; and Human Trafficking. For more info, click here
Buckhead Christian Ministry
Wieuca is one of the founding churches of this vital ministry that assists people who are homeless or working poor in our city. You can help BCM by volunteering or by making donations of money, clothing, or food donations. Twice a year, Wieuca is responsible for filling the pantry at BCM. Many of our members also serve BCM regularly by working in the food pantry or thrift store (Buckhead THRIFTique), as an intake volunteer, or special events volunteer. If you are interested in learning how to get involved with BCM, contact Buckhead THRIFTique volunteer Helen McLeskey or BCM board representative Melba Hill.Wieuca Day School Reading Program
We have a vibrant Day School which serves many families. The Day School is always looking for volunteers to read to these precious children. If you are interested in becoming a reader please contact Dartha Whitis.Friendship Home
The Claire Gibbs Friendship Home provides a short-term occupancy Christian home for family members of persons experiencing an extended hospital stay at one of several nearby hospitals. Wieuca's Missions Committee coordinates this ministry. The Friendship Home includes two separate family apartments in addition to separate living quarters for our house manager. For more info click HERE or wieuca.org/friendshiphome.
Youth Basketball Program
Every winter Wieuca has hundreds of aspiring young basketball players participate in Wieuca Hoops. We need coaches. If you are looking for a way to mentor and connect with young people this is the job for you. We will be having coaching clinics if it has been a while since you coached or played or maybe you never played we can still use you. Check out more info HERE or contact Joel Mills if you are interested at JMills@Wieuca.org.Tutoring
During the school year Wieuca provides a great after school program for over one hundred students from three local elementary schools. Did a teacher, tutor or mentor impact you in your life? If so return that blessing to the kids in our after school program. To get involved contact Joel Mills at JMills@Wieuca.org.Clarkston Refugee Tutoring
Every Sunday Will McCollum leads a group of young adults to Clarkston and they are tutoring a family from Syria. At this time Will is asking for prayers as this ministry grows. Stay tuned for how you can get involved.Habitat for Humanity
Each spring Wieuca participates in the building of a home. All skills and experience are needed to help make this project come together. If you are ready to knock the dust off your hammer contact Robin Cox.
Filling lunch and hygiene bags
Several of our covenant groups have been filling up bags for individuals who stop by our church.
Nurses
If you are a nurse Judy Burdett may have a great way for you to serve. She is part of a program called Visiting Nurse through Hospice. Each week she visits with a hospice patient. Contact Judy Burdett if this is a way you would like to use your gifts.
